I went through a period of only listening to Lady Gaga for 2 years and when I got back into Prince now I usually only listen to him and if I listen to something else I feel guilty like I am cheating on him or something haha! The great thing is that he has so many songs so it's easy to listen to him all the time. Gaga doesn't have as big as a catalogue because she hasn't been doing it as long so it gets a bit repetitive listening to only her music. I'm so obsessed with her I dressed up like her for halloween 2 years in a row, I have my own attachable hair bow and glasses like hers and every magazine I see on newstands of her I buy. People even say I look like her because I have my hair platinum blonde with bangs like she had in The Fame era. Poker Face is one of my favorite songs of hers because I love the concept and the look of it and I think she is so gorgeous like that. It is my favorite look of hers and I had always hoped that she would make herself look like that again at least once, just for the fun of it because a lot of people miss that Gaga and would love to see it return. But I guess the whole idea is that she has evolved from who that girl was so that it why she probably won't return to that image.

And Prince, well no he did not look me in the eye unfortunately but just knowing he is in the same room as me is exciting enough. The first time I saw him was at a special gig he did at a small club in my city that only holds 2000 people so it was an honor to have gone to a tiny gig like that. He played 2 shows but I could only go to 1 because I had to work but I always kick myself for not going to both because it's a shame to pass up Prince! If I could go back and do it again I would go to both.
After that experience I would wish every night that he would come back again and then one day in November I was on facebook and on the side there are ads for things and one of them said Prince was coming to my city... and I'm like huh??? because a lot of those ads are bogus. So I clicked on it and it looked too good to be true. I did some more research and then realized it was true that Prince was coming December 2nd to the arena in my city. I quickly bought my tickets when they went on sale and waiting patiently for the month to pass and then December 2nd I went and saw him perform in an arena setting with 12,000 people present. Totally a different experience from the small club gig I had seen him at before.
I had also heard rumors of Prince doing aftershows some times and one source had claimed that there would be a Prince aftershow at a local club after the concert.
So after the concert finished at 11:00pm I found my way to the club (dragging my boyfriend the whole way and he was not a happy camper!) and we paid and got in. Now I didn't even know if there would be anything happening there or if Prince would come or if he would play but I would just see what happens.
DJ Rashida was there spinning great music and lots of Prince tracks, lots of the Time, and more great songs. People were dancing. I was having some fun just seeing what would happen. I think at around 2:00am, Prince appears! It was a very small club so he must have been about 30 feet away from me because I was at the other side of the room. I freaked out and ran up, trying to get to the front. I just wanted to see him up close or be seen him or say hi or something but as I tried pushing my way to the front this big guy got mad at me and wouldn't let me go in front of him. I am very short (only 5 feet tall) so I could not see a thing. And I think Prince had already gone by then. People had been trying to take pictures and it freaked him out and he got spooked off and ran away. He had also insisted at the concert that no camera were allowed and they were very strict about it so I got no photos from the night really
Then some girl came out and performed and she was ok but we wanted Prince! She said at one point that if we wanted Prince to come back we would have to leave our cameras put away.
The NPG came around 3:00am and Shelby and Liv were getting the crowd really pumped and singing and we were having fun. Prince crept back in and played a bit of keyboard and bass here and there but he did not sing or say anything. He played the bass with his back to the crowd because he didnt want any chance of pictures.
At 4:00am they said thank you and left and then my boyfriend and I had to find our way back home and we don't drive so we had to bus all the way back home.
Got home around 5:30am and unfortunately I had to work at 9am!!! so I pretty much slept for 2 hours and then worked an entire day!
So worth it though, I will really never forget that night and it must have been the best night of my life. To attend a Prince concert and then party all night until the morning with Prince and the NPG was a total treat.
Just thought I would share my story with you because I think a fellow Prince fan would enjoy it. I love just thinking about that night and trying to remember all the details about it.

For Lady Gaga my favorite songs are Poker Face, Monster, Marry the Night, Government Hooker and Schiebe.
For Prince there are tons...
DMSR, Let's Pretend We're Married, Erotic City, The Beautiful Ones, All Day All Night, Anna Stesia, Empty Room, G-Spot, If Eye Was Ur Girlfriend... etc


I also listen to Prince's proteges like The Time, Apollonia/Vanity 6, Jill Jones, Mazarati, The Family, Etc...

And I have been collecting Prince stuff. I have some tshirts, button pins, giant posters mounted on my wall (i'll show you a picture if you want!)
Just bought a bottle of 3121 perfume and Purple Rain mirror sunglasses on ebay and I'm waiting for them to come in the mail. I have been trying to collect his cds and I have almost all of them now. They are hard to get because they are out of print.
